Anna Guhin
I grew up in the Washington, DC area, and spent my early adult life pursuing a "real" corporate job, while working in health clubs as a trainer and exercise teacher for fun. I had a "no pain-no gain" fitness mentality, and when I entered my first yoga class I was completely uptight....I wanted to do it right, get it right, be right...my mind raced at 100 mph...my stories and fears hung heavy on my shoulders. I just didn't get it -- and I didn't enjoy it at all. But something made me stick with it.
David and I walked into our first Baptiste Power Yoga class in 2004, and despite my insistence that yoga wasn't really for me, that first practice created a shift. I started to learn about being in the present moment, letting go of the stuff that wasn't really me, opening up to possibility and enjoying life just the way it is.
My intention as a teacher is to to approach each class with a sense of humor and create an openness to possibility.
I am honored to be a Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga teacher, and my ongoing training with Baron Baptiste continually inspires me to grow, shine and share...and to do it now!
